Let's Simplify Your Nutrition

Hey Guys,

Let's get right into today with this post. Nutrition is never an easy thing... For ANYONE. Trust me. If it were easy, then we wouldn't have an industry built upon your inability to put the chocolate cake down. Okay okay, joking aside. Who doesn't love chocolate cake? We all have indulgences, but some of us can overcome, distract, and avoid temptation easier than others.

So I ask, are you struggling with nutrition? No worries. It's common. Some  folks lack ideas, some can't handle the log, and some folks are just completely lost.

Let's make it easy.

1. Protein. It builds and recovers muscle. Eat two fist size servings per day.

2. Fat. It's our primary and most efficient fuel source. Eat it daily and before bed to help avoid starving your metabolism.

3. Starchy-carbs. Potatoes, bread, pasta, etc. The "evil" ones? No. Acceptable at the right times. Are you going to workout or did you just workout? If yes, enjoy small portion. If no, then avoid.

4. Fibrous-carbs. Broccoli, leafy greens, asparagus, bell peppers, list goes on and on.... EAT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! Buffet style :) Packed full of nutrients and much needed fiber. Enjoy them raw, steamed, sautéed, baked, whatever. Enjoy.

5. What to avoid: processed food and sugars. They spike insulin and promote fat storage. Dairy. Full of sugar, causes gut inflammation, and is a weak source of vitamins, protein, and fat (exclusion is farm fresh milk from grassfed cows)

Think simple about your plate. Eat for your activity that day.

Remember...

Fast food is ONLY convenient and "fast" to the unprepared individual.

Think ahead, plan your day, eat to live.

EAT and LIVE!

Stay Strong,
Kris
